Calcium β-hydroxy-β-methyl butyrate(HMB-Ca)

HMB is a intermediate metabolites of Leucine, toxicology studies prove the safety of HMB, no adverse reaction was found. A large number of clinical studies have been conducted on HMB, and no reports of HMB side effects have been found so far.

As it’s calcium salt, HMB-Ca is used the most during commercialized production for the easy storage and consuming characters.

Woldwide regulations:

• HMB was approved as substances generally recognized as safe(GRAS) by U.S in year 1995, it is approved for medical nutrition foods and special diet;

• In 1997, HMB is approved to use as basic food source by EU;

• And in 2009, Japan include HMB into food ingredients;

• And it is approved as novel food here in China in year 2011;
